Clarely  ›  Know when you need a sitter

How it works

Know you need a sitter — before it's a problem.

The sitter gap is the thing you notice at 9 pm the night before. Clarely notices when you're headed somewhere your kids aren't, checks whether your partner is actually free — and only then asks you to find coverage.

How it decides

1

It sees who's going

You're on the event. One of your kids isn't. That's the moment a coverage question exists — and Clarely spots it as the event is saved, not the night before.

2

It checks your partner

Is the other parent actually free during those hours? Clarely compares the event's time window against their day. A 7 pm dinner doesn't stop them covering a 9 am appointment.

3

It checks the kids

Children old enough to stay home alone don't count. Neither do kids already covered somewhere else during that window — a sleepover, a camp, another event.

4

Only then does it ask

If nobody's covering, Clarely names the kids who need care and the hours to cover — and puts your saved sitters one tap from a call or text.

The gap, and the person who can fill it — in the same place.

No hunting for a number when you finally realize you need one. The sitter you actually call sits right on the event, ready to ring or text. You choose who to contact — Clarely never messages anyone on your behalf.

The hard part isn't noticing. It's staying quiet.

An assistant that flagged every event would be noise you'd learn to ignore. Clarely says nothing when coverage is already handled.

Your partner is free — no overlap in their day, so nothing is flagged.
The kids are coming with you — they're on the event, so there's no gap.
They're old enough to stay home — mark it once, and they stop triggering prompts.
They're already covered — a sleepover at grandma's or a camp during the same hours counts.
You've handled it yourself — mark childcare not needed, with a reason, and undo it any time.
Neither parent is going — if no parent is on the event, there's no coverage question to raise.

Your sitter's number stays on your phone.

Common questions

How does Clarely know we need a sitter?

It compares who's attending an event against your family. If a parent is going and one of your kids isn't, it then checks whether the other parent is actually free during that event's time window. Only when nobody is covering does it flag a childcare gap.

What if my partner is free that evening?

Then nothing is flagged. Clarely looks at whether the non-attending parent has an event that overlaps the same time window — a 7 pm dinner doesn't block them from covering a 9 am appointment, so it stays quiet.

What about older kids who can stay home alone?

Mark a child as able to stay home alone and they stop triggering sitter prompts entirely.

What if the kids are already covered somewhere else?

Clarely checks for that too. If a child is already at a sleepover, a camp, or another event during the same window, it doesn't ask you to find a sitter for them.

Does Clarely book the sitter for me?

No. It surfaces the gap, names the children who need care and the hours to cover, and puts your saved sitters one tap from a call or text. You stay in control of who you contact.

Can I dismiss it when I know childcare is handled?

Yes. You can mark childcare as not needed for an event and add a short reason, and you can undo that at any time.

Stop finding out at 9 pm.
